The Bench
During the final days of my mother’s life, a simple bench in a hallway became a place for honest conversations, laughter, tears, and eventually, a lesson I didn’t know I needed.
Life doesn’t look quite the way I expected it to at this point. After a season of loss and change, I am learning to slow down, grieve what is gone, and pay attention to the moments that are still waiting for me.
Some books entertain us, and some quietly become part of who we are. One childhood story taught me about friendship, loss, and the power of words, but it would be decades before I understood just how much it still had to teach me.
